This cross is based on a 10th century pendant from Fossi, Iceland. It may have been a Thor’s Hammer design, but it also resembles a Christian Cross.
   In many cultures Christian missionaries blended pagan symbols with their own in order to make the new Christian religion more familiar to the recently converted.
