The Tree of Life is a mystical concept, a metaphor for common descent in various world theologies and philosophies. This symbol appears in the  folklore of nearly every culture, indicating a common beginning for all things in the universe. 
 The Tree of Life is said to impart immortality, fertility and other supernatural powers. In Judeo-Christian traditions, it is the Tree of  Knowledge of Good and Evil found in the book of Genesis and is in various passages throughout the Old and New Testaments.
